Blown Asphalt
The asphalt for waterproof application is made in the process of polycondensation reaction of air and asphalt with a special catalyst on quality petroleum asphalt. It features low thermosensitivity, excellent heat resistance, cold resistance, shock resistance, and chemical resistance, and high adhesiveness. The asphalt is used not only for general waterproof, but for waterproofing concrete and rebar structures.
Purpose
· For waterproofing and moisture-proofing: rooftops, exterior walls, basements, roofing manufacturing
· Electrical insulation and cable protection, sealing agent for electrical parts, etc.
· For protective coating of metal and concrete, coating of underground structures, pipes and tanks
· Other adhesives and anti-corrosive agents, etc.
Method of use
· Use by heating and dissolving at 170 ~ 230℃.
· Be sure to stir well to avoid local heating or overheating.
· The maximum allowable temperature during melting is 250℃ or less.
Handling precautions
· Do not heat above flash point.
· Wear gloves or other protective gear while working as there is a risk of burns if molten asphalt touches the skin.
· Molten asphalt splashes when it comes into contact with water, so be careful not to let moisture into it.
· When melting asphalt indoors, provide sufficient ventilation and be careful of fire.
